Hello, reader. How are you doing? Do you have a garnet earring I could have or borrow? Just one–I feel more comfortable with asymmetrical earrings.
These days I wear a gold hoop I found in the gutter here in Eugene, in my right ear, along with a simple earring of carnelian, my favorite stone. All that is good.
In my left ear I wear a square earring with yellow shell– I like it. But lately I get the feeling I need garnet with me, with its dark red. My mom preferred rubies, but I need garnet.
I looked on ebay and wasn’t too excited. Of course I could try etsy. But I thought I’d ask friends.
Yesterday I visited a good friend in town, and we looked through her jewelry boxes for garnet, which was fun.
socks
While I’m asking personal questions, did you buy me socks? They arrived not this winter but last, with no note, and I was like– uh, who gave this gift to me? Three pairs, a warm tan brown. I think an alpaca’s wool.
The socks were too small; I have very large ankles. But Ming has regular size ankles and wears them all the time.
So thank you for contributing to our family’s well-being, mystery gift giver. I asked a few likely suspects, but no one confessed. Please let me know if it was you.

I would shift my role in community where my strengths were known and valued. I wish every community I was part of, we would all list five strengths and five weaknesses, posted somewhere shared.
Then we would know who to ask for help with what, and we would know the areas we’re working on and need extra compassion. I’ll go first.
Strengths: poems and zines–writing, ritual, cooking veg food, empathetic listening, tracking needs / planning.
Weaknesses: low physical energy level, getting swept up with unavailable charmers, extreme sensory sensitivity, early bird sleep schedule, clumsy.

Sharing me as I see it:

I’m sorry you’re underestimated. I love you always. your strengths are amazing. I am so fortunate to benefit from them.
