“Stardust gave me this pear,” I told Ming.
I was holding a small green pear in my hand that I guessed Stardust had picked from a tree before our last visit.
“So I’m carrying it around with me,” I continued. “As one does!”
Ming smiled. We were on a trip to Portland, and the pear comforted me, something solid and rounded to hold onto.
When we returned home to Eugene, I realized the pear was getting overripe. I ate the good part in the parking lot at home, and put the other part in the compost, to continue its life giving love to the earth, as Stardust has given love to me.
introducing Stardust
Hello, reader. How are you doing? There’s a new important person in my life, and I asked if I could write a blog post about him–he said yes. So today I’m introducing Stardust.
Probably you are a human being, reader– I can’t presume. But mostly human beings are the ones who read words. Other beings read the sky, shifts in weather, the tides, electromagnetic fields, pheromones, the feelings of other beings… Assuming you’re a human, or any being on earth, you’re made of stardust.
In that sense, you know about stardust already.
But Stardust with a capital S is a specific human. I like to
- cook delicious foods for him
- learn together
- touch water together
- let new parts of myself emerge and feel free with him
- change together
- support each other
At the same time that Stardust is a human being, he’s also a tree. Also I observe that he’s a forest spirit, mountain spirit, and force of nature. Original, authentic, and healing– he’s more than the sum of his parts. His love heals places in me I didn’t even know were hurting.
He’s full of Mystery, defies binaries, and defies summary in a hundred ways.
Yet I try to explain a little. I’m loving Stardust powerfully, and we’re a few months on a journey together. Every day is to celebrate.
values
It was easy to fall in love with Stardust because our values are shared. Stardust does Disability Justice and healing work. In fact, that’s how we met; he came to a Transqueer Fat Disabled Dance in May of this year. Like me he’s trans, writes poetry, and does autistic liberation.
Stardust is the first person I ever met who we share so many values, but I didn’t have to teach him the values. I’m much older than he is, but we met at a similar time in our lives of being excited for justice. The access intimacy is divine– he respects all people. It’s relaxing to be near him, like coming from the same homeland or sharing the same dialect. Yes, we come from the land of Deep Consideration. We understand.
Other things we have in common are…
- differences communicating
- sensitivity to sound, light, touch, temperature…
- relationship with Spirit
- abundant processing time and rest
- big feelings
- strong needs
- expertise at overwhelm
- community striving
- beautiful connection to the earth

Here is the website of Stardust if you would like to learn more and possibly hire him for energy work, healing work, peer support, or ritual. You’ll find his substack, Patreon, and instagram on this website also.

I remember the first time I visited Stardust’s website– my mind was blown. Yes! I need to be held by the earth so bad. That’s my default fantasy, especially when I’m upset. And I need gentleness– I thrive on it. Wow, those are my sacred, inner world, necessary things.
If I was going to have a business or work for money, I would build altars and facilitate ritual. Yes, I love ritual, and people are hungry for that– protection, divorce, welcoming babies, eldering ceremonies, life transitions.
Peer support is like radical mental health, and energy work is transformative too. I was like–wow, this person is doing the things I most like! I’m amazed by all that Stardust and I have in common.
Yet we didn’t talk about our shared values at the beginning. Instead, we lived them. We spent time together low language, enacting those values together with consent, aliveness, and respect.
love
Talk is cheap. Respectful shared experiences of touch, pleasure, and nature are beyond language.
A person is a universe, and I’m fortunate to find love again.
As for the other areas of my life, Ming is good with Stardust, and our other chosen family member is as well. They care about Stardust and are curious to know more.
I continue to write, make art and zines, live in community, nurture my chosen family, create alternatives to capitalism, ride trike, praise Mother God, and destroy empire.
Stardust and I explore the Pacific Northwest and move through time together, enjoying the path of life, fortunate to have one another this summer.
