This sample day plan meme is not entirely accurate. I message loved ones in the morning also, and I don’t tend plants every day. Often I go out to visit with a friend or attend an event. Sunning is only possible on sunny days. But this meme gives you an idea.
This is how I live a rich life caring for myself and meeting my actual needs, without psych meds, after being diagnosed with bipolar 1 with psychotic features then schizoaffective disorder. I mean to say that meaning, love, pleasure, and living a good life keep me well. I don’t need sedation because my human needs are actually met.
Psychiatrists said I would be on a bipolar cocktail all my life. They were wrong. I just needed to defy culture and take care of the person I actually am.
Stimming, radical community love, lowering my stress as much as I can, eating how I need to eat, and prioritizing chosen family keeps me well. DIY faith, listening to my intuition, nurtures me and keeps me well.
Also travel–Ming and I are near Mt Shasta right now. Ming took this picture yesterday.
second breakfast
Yes, I’m an early bird. Yes, I like two breakfasts. No, I don’t go to stores, watch movies or tv, caretake children or elders, or work for money. I’m sorry I do very little housework besides cooking.
Thank you to Ming, chosen family and friends, the people who enjoy my art and writing, Parent Earth, and everyone who helps me face reality and feel my feelings.
Some would consider this sample day plan and say that I’m not facing reality. Long ago my dad said I was burying my head in the sand by not watching the news. My dad is not on earth anymore, and maybe one day I’ll let go of his judgement.
Not everyone has to do everything. I cook Food Not Bombs, but I don’t have the skills or disposition to be a street medic. I don’t know current events on a worldwide scale, but I know the current events on my porch that the marigolds are blooming. Every day I know the current events of Ming’s health and what I dreamed last night.
moon
I dreamed last night of the big, beautiful moon in the sky. It was low on the horizon and huge, a peachy copper color, much huger than regular life. The dramatic craters were richly pleasing me.
“Wow, Ming said it was a super moon,” I said to the dream person I was with. “It looks pretty super!”
I think this dream was a birthday gift. Today I’m deeper into middle age, grateful for my blessings. Thanks for the moon, Mother God, and everything else you give us.
