jealousy is a stressor

Hello, reader.  How are you doing?  I’d like to announce my new zine, Jealousy Is a Stressor.  I made it a few weeks ago and forgot to tell you about it.  Bound with thread, cute, and text heavy.  I’m open to trades.

jealousy is a stressor

Jealousy Is a Stressor is a mini-zine.  It reminds me of the How Not to Domestic Violence Anyone zine because it’s direct and real about feelings that most people don’t want to talk about, but that most people experience.

This zine is good for people who do Ethical Non-Monogamy, but really for anyone.

It’s important that we break down the restrictions on what’s ok to talk about.  Emotional skills and relationship skills are vital.  Mostly our culture doesn’t teach us these important things.  So I’m glad we have zines and other diy media and can share info ourselves.

My favorite part of this zine is probably the questions in the middle.  You know me and my questions for discussion.  I was never a textbook writer, but I was a teacher.  When I was a student, I enjoyed the questions for discussion at the end of a chapter.  Critical thinking is my favorite.

other fun things to read

I have a thing for the work of Kenneth Rexroth who was a poet and translator.  When I was an undergrad, I loved his translations of Chinese and Japanese poems.  Then I was at the anarchist book fair in Oakland some years ago and met someone who runs the Bureau of Public Secrets: a big fan of Rexroth.

Anyway, there’s a manuscript you can read here that was never paper-published of pre-literate poems.  What a weird term for some poems.  Food for thought just in the title.

Apparently I love pre-literate poems.  Yes, I’ve read old poems by Native American persons in transliteration, which I adore.

valid salad

Is salad super important in your life?  Do you need it every day?  There’s a website of a local person about growing liberated salad.  The Pacific Northwest has some characters.

Hoedads

I want to learn about Hoedads too.

A lot of local tree stuff!  The Willamette Valley is amazing.  I would like a master’s degree in this area.

questions for discussion
  • Do you know a lot about where you come from?
  • Do you know a lot about what you live now?
  • How jealous are you?  You could use a scale of 1 to 10, or you could compare how jealous you are now to how jealous you were when you were a teenager.
  • Do you know how to face your own jealousy?  The jealousy of others?
  • What relationship skills or emotional skills could you use use a zine about?
