“Hey, dear,” I said to Ming.  “Do you ever get the feeling your system updated, and you have to re-teach your computer all the stuff you added to your dictionary?”

I was at my desk in the early morning, agonizing at my chromebook.

“No,” Ming said.

“Yeah, I have to re-teach it like ‘zine’ is a word.  God!  I hate that!” I said.

autism

Yes, very autistic of me.  How dare you change the rules on me, computer.  Every time I also have to re-teach my dictionary Ming’s name.

When I was a kid, I kept my crayons lined up in color order.  My brother spilled the box, and I lost my shit.

“He will put them back,” my mom.

“He won’t put them back in the right order!” I cried.

Yes, I was right.  He didn’t put them back in the right order.

zine is a word

I met a new friend yesterday.  I gave her three zines, and I hope she enjoys them.  She teaches at the university.  We went to grad school at the same So-Cal university.

Two of my websites were down for a few days.  I’m so glad I can talk to you again, reader.

Yesterday my homegirl Bag had a show at New Frontiers minimarket.  I was proud of her for trying a new venue.  Felt like real spring.

Here’s a picture I took of her making noise.

show

Please visit her website Hetti Tapes and see / hear what’s there.  Her new album Isis is coming out soon.  And I just did the art for the interview tape I facilitated.  The interview series is called What Is Noise?

It’s funny how we do things we have no idea are preparing us for our future, such as the name of this blog preparing me for the force that is Bag.

questions for discussion

Is your life ready for the storms that will arrive?

How about the abundant blessings?

Are you frustrated when your computer loses your dictionary customization?

Are you a noise musician who would like to be interviewed?  Please contact me.

If you could invite into your life anyone who would help you learn anything in the world, who would you invite?

Who are you inviting right now, with your behaviors?

What kind of autistic are you, if you’re autistic?

safety

I’m the socially confused and crying, sensory sensitive, high masking, high language skills, deep introvert woman-looking kind.  Bag is the sensory seeking kind.  We both accidentally break things a lot.

Yesterday when Bag broke my chair, she apologized.

“It was made to be broken,” I said.

Yes, camping chairs are like some promises.  The exception that proves the chair.

Ming is the spacial genius map mastering, Swiss cheese empathy kind of autistic.  He deeply cares more than anyone about certain things, and is totally missing other empathies, in a way that allows him to do amazing things without anesthesia.  Yes, great for a nurse.

And Bag and I are so often breaking things, it’s nice to have a nurse nearby for safety.

Good at listening to the noise until it makes sense.
