“Hey, dear! When you’re done, I want to pray with you!” I said to Ming. He was taking a shower. I popped into the bathroom to use the toilet before bed.
“Ok, I’m almost done,” Ming said.
“Good,” I said.
Then he came out of the shower. I was listening to weird chimey sounds that help me feel calm and safe.
family
Shared prayer is a nice thing about me and Ming. He is a great family member. We are anarchists but very religious. I pray all the time. Ming is a great sport–he’s up for many prayer styles.
I told Ming I wanted to pray for my body. I asked him if he would hold my hands and repeat my sentences, but change each sentence to about me. It was a pronoun thing. He agreed.
“Holy mother, mother of God,” I said.
“Holy mother, mother of God,” Ming said.
“Thank you for my sacred, beautiful body,” I said.
“Thank you for your sacred, beautiful body,” Ming said.
“Thank you for all the ways my body works,” I said.
“Thank you for all the ways your body works,” Ming said.
“Please bless my health,” I said.
“Please bless your health,” Ming said.
It went on like this, more specific. Ming is helpful, the way he would echo what I said. I felt a very supported feeling. He shows up for me so beautifully.
pronouns
Speaking of pronouns, I’m keeping she her for now but taking on a ki kin. I wanna do like this: ki kin kins kins kinself. So I don’t need the g, but otherwise, this page lays it out great.
I’d been thinking about taking a they, but it didn’t seem quite right for me. I know one person who uses kin. Ki is a fat liberation hero of mine, a writer, and quite a musician also.
So I think I am not exactly a cis lady anymore. Please welcome me to transland. I don’t believe I was ever really a cis lady, but I pass as one so well. So here we are. I pray for all the trans people, including possibly me.
