Hello, how are you doing? Are you eating delicious foods lately? I would like to show you some of our delicious foods lately.
pinquinto beans
Beans were my first solid food. “That baby needs some beans!” my nana said. Beans taste like love. Here are some multi-step beans.
On my birthday, I cooked some pinquito beans very plain. Just salt and pepper. We ate a little bit for a taste of my homeland, to celebrate the holiday. Simple and nice.
Then the next day, I cooked about ten tomatoes from the farm we were living at. I put them through a white rice cycle in our rice cooker / slow cooker. That brings whatever to a boil and simmers it a while.
Then I added the leftover pinquito beans from yesterday that had been in the fridge, frozen half a chopped onion from last time we made beans, half a can of adobe chiles in mole from a food bank in Ojai, salt, black pepper, chili powder, water. And I put all that through another white rice cycle.
Wow, que rico! Yummy!
They were a little too spicy for Ming. He’s become less spicy tolerant, while I’m becoming more spicy tolerant. But different kinds of spicy are very different, for me. And it really matters how much I eat. I can’t have much concentrated tomato because of my stomach health needs. So I tasted only ate a few delicious bites.
pasta sauce
Ming had some spaghetti from the food bank in Ojai, and we picked tomatoes from the farm we were living at. And the farmer dehydrated some oregano and basil and gave some to us, so we had these lovely spices. So fresh and amazing, almost like tea. All basil is holy basil!
We started making delicious pasta sauce. I would make it in the slow cooker, cutting up tomatoes. Then cooking them on a white rice cycle. Then adding spices and garlic. Olive oil at the end, on top.
The pasta sauce smelled so tasty, cooking in our trailer home. I couldn’t eat it, but I could be happy that Ming enjoyed.
Shangri La
Then we were in the Bay Area briefly and stopped at my favorite vegan macrobiotic restaurant, Shangri La. Wow, their food is how my body wants to eat every day. Brown rice, tasty beans, and abundant veg.
“Oh yay! It’s the soup! Like beans but waterier! Yay yay!” I said.
I liked this art on the wall too.
salad r
Then I was eating a salad at Black Bear Diner. Ming likes this place for some reason. I struggle to find foods I can eat there, but somehow it always works. This time I was craving blueberries and sweet potatoes. I had a salad with no dressing and sweet potato fries. Not bad!
If you know me well, you know I have trouble with dressing and like to eat salad with my hands. So I was munching tiny carrot sticks and lettuce leaves and cabbage strands.
I saw this beautiful graffiti font r that looked so striking. Ah, I marveled at its beauty.
I took this picture for you. Then I ate it. Made me want to make a whole cabbage font. Nature is amazing.
thank you
Thank you for reading about my delicious foods lately. These ones are all vegan. I ditched dairy for good, I hope. It was amplifying my allergies. I love how it tastes, but I can’t do that to myself anymore.
And driving through California’s central valley, I see the irresponsibility of cow harm there. Acres of cows standing around in their own shit, doing a whole lot of nothing, suffering a terrible life for someone to eat a hamburger. No thank you!
I hope you’re getting what you need for your health. I hope to show you my cabbage based graffiti font soon. Love to your needs.
