Dangerous Compassions

music festival

There’s a music festival coming up to support Pace e Bene.  The interfaith peace org that Ming and I help run, Nevada Desert Experience, is a co-sponsor!

What a pretty blue guitar, huh?

I was having a fantasy of writing a peace song to perform for the music festival, and asking Ming to record it.  Maybe I could sing something in Sanskrit that’s public domain…  Hmm.  I like the path my thoughts are taking, about this!

Here’s a website about the festival.

departed anarchist

This website was recommended to me, some writings about a departed anarchist.  Oh yes, he was a Love & Rager.  I’m learning about Love & Rage lately.

why am I doing this

I’m really bad at watching movies.  But this documentary Why Am I Doing This? on touring interests me a lot.  Would you watch this movie for me, tell me what it’s about, and describe your favorite parts, in detail?

There was this panel over zoom, the other day–three intellectuals speaking about anarchist topics.  I don’t think I ever told you about it.

I loved it!  That’s what got me thinking about Love & Rage.  The third speaker mentions Love & Rage a lot.

Here’s the link.  I asked a question but don’t appear visually.

You know me–I never judge a book my its cover.  I judge a book by its binding.  Really, I was trying to figure out if the propaganda books were zines.  You know me!

I got a letter from one of my favorite penpals in Australia.  She sends me snippets from homemaking magazines.  Cooking some amaranth for me and Ming to eat.  My emotions have been all over the place.

black widow

“What movie are you seeing?” I asked Ming.

“Black Widow,” he said.

“Does it have a lady in a provocative spider suit?”

“No,” he said.

“Is it about a spider at all?”

“No,” he said.

“Is it about someone Black?”

“No,” he said.

“Uhhhh…  Is it about a widow!?”

“No,” he said.

“False advertising!” I said.

He laughed.

“I wanna see the movie that’s playing in my head right now!”  Thinking of a spider suit lady who fancifully eats her ex-es.  And climbs on walls, for sure.

Good at listening to the noise until it makes sense.
