Dangerous Compassions


We have some mints in a little hinged tin. It’s so cute. The mints are vanilla flavored and sugarfree. Ming never wants one when I offer when we’re driving in the car. 

“You know what this reminds me of?” I asked him. “Those throat losenges.”

“Altoids?” he asked. 

“I think Sucrets,” I said. The tin closes so securely with a satisfying click.
